Preparing a greenhouse with PENOPLEX® for winter. Activities to be held in the fall

Before the cold weather, you need to properly prepare the greenhouse for winter. Thanks to the insulation PENOPLEX® you can do early planting of vegetables in the spring, as well as plant later varieties that have time to ripen in the fall.

The first stage of preparing a greenhouse with PENOPLEX® insulation for winter is as follows. In September, you should get rid of weeds and plant debris (along with roots). If pathogens remain in the soil, they will overwinter without any problems and become active in the warm season. In addition, all pegs and garters must be removed. Plant residues must be burned.

The second stage is washing and disinfection of the greenhouse walls. To do this, prepare a solution with potassium permanganate and carefully process the walls, including the top of the structure, doors and vents. When washing polycarbonate, do not use household chemicals, abrasive products (only soft cloths and sponges can be used).

Insulation can also be easily washed with water, it does not absorb water. It is not recommended to use substances in contact with PENOPOLEX, which contain solvents.

The third stage is soil disinfection. If possible, gardeners change completely old soil to new one. But, of course, it is laborious to do it every year. Therefore, the soil can be treated with a biological product "Fitosporin". Hay stick, which is contained in the biological agent, eliminates pathogens in the ground.

The fourth stage is the sowing of green manure. They are sown after soil disinfection. Winter rye, mustard inhibits the development of fungal diseases, the soil becomes soft and loose, thanks to the root system of green manure. The latter can be dug up before winter or left in the ground until spring.

If you are growing cucumbers and tomatoes in the same greenhouse, planting should be alternated every year. Otherwise, infections and pests will accumulate from year to year.
