However, no one wants to get sick, including me, so I try to help the body in the fight against viruses. The simplest and most basic substance for strengthening immunity is vitamin C, which from childhood we we like to use ascorbic acid in the form of "candy", and magnesium to reduce the stress on the nervous system. Probably everyone has heard the phrase "all diseases are from the nerves", and it is. When we are stressed, the body mobilizes our internal resources, which makes it weak and becomes vulnerable to viruses.

After reading several articles on the benefits of the vitamin, I was very surprised. It turns out that vitamin C not only stimulates the immune system, but also

  • protects against stress, normalizes the nervous system;
  • increases metabolism;
  • improves brain function;
  • protects against strokes and heart attacks.

The main thing is not to overdo it with the dosage of the vitamin, otherwise the benefits will turn into harm. In large amounts, vitamin C causes:

  • diarrhea, upset stomach;
  • convulsions;
  • the formation of kidney stones;
  • allergic reactions.

Magnesium facilitates the nervous system. Also, the substance is a natural blocker of calcium channels, and, as you know, excess calcium leads to various diseases. Before that, I had never taken magnesium in the form of any supplements, because I did not know how useful it is, and was pleasantly surprised about such properties of the substance.

Dosage of vitamin C and magnesium

An adult woman, like adolescents over 13 years old, needs to eat up to 75 milligrams of vitamin C per day, and a man - 90 milligrams. In the case of children, things are a little more complicated. A child from one to four years old needs only 15 mg of vitamin. At the age of 4 to 8 years - 25 mg, at 9-13 years old - 45.

The dosage of magnesium is not as strict as that of vitamin C, it is almost impossible to consume enough magnesium to harm yourself. The daily requirement of an adult is 400-500 mg.

How to take vitamin C and magnesium

Vitamin C can be taken both in the form of ascorbic acid "candy" and through the consumption of vegetables and fruits. It is best to use the second method, because this way you will not only strengthen the body, but also get other useful substances. Also, with a deficiency of vitamin C, intravenous administration or a similar use of liposomal vitamin is recommended.

Magnesium is found in foods such as walnuts, bananas, and spinach. But after 25 years, scientists recommend using nutritional supplements, because with age, the ability of the intestines decreases.

Scientists around the world say that if each person took only 1-2 grams of vitamin C per day, then people could avoid many diseases. Therefore, take care of your body, especially now it is more relevant than ever. Nobody wants to get sick, because not only is this a bad condition, but you can also infect your family.
