Why water heating in our house and what problems we face
Our subscriber living in the Khabarovsk Territory shared his experience of dreams.
Combined heating in our house. The water cooling system is conventional - batteries, water, a pump. The pump drives water through the batteries, it starts only with the help of electricity.
But the water heating itself can be done in two ways.
The first method is solid fuel. There is a large stove where firewood or coal is loaded.
The second way is with the same electricity.
Heating is on around the clock, so the stove either runs on electricity all the time, or it turns on only at night (when everyone is asleep and there is no one to heat it manually).
What is more profitable? Our house is large, more than 200 squares (with a garage and basements). While we were living in this house (elderly parents, myself and three children), we used a mixed method to heat it, trying to use more solid fuel. I am a mother of many children, we are provided with social support - refund of expenses for coal and firewood.
When we moved out, Mom had just retired. And as a teacher in the countryside, she is given an electricity concession. The state pays for it in full. Now parents are trying to heat the house more with electricity. But it's still very expensive for such a large house. At the night rate, 10,000 rubles will come out, and if you heat it with electricity around the clock, about 40,000 will come out. And parents cannot lay out this amount at once every month (they return the money in 2-3 months). Therefore, we still use the mixed method more. During the winter, 5-6 tons of coal are consumed, the cost of 1 ton is 3500-6000 rubles.
We live in the Far East and the winters are very cold here. This heating method was chosen on the basis of communication with neighbors. There are no other options here - the gas is not supplied, the solar panels of one of the neighbors are not particularly strong. They promise to supply gas to us for 10 years already - this is the most economical option, but so far these are only promises.
The only major problem happened recently, at the end of October 2020. Heavy wet snow fell in the Khabarovsk Territory. Many trees tumbled down and broke, electric pillars fell. There was no electricity in our village for 3 days and two nights. And if we could still heat with coal and firewood, then the electric pump did not work at all. We were lucky with our neighbors - we were given a generator for this time, we drained the gasoline from the car, and these two nights were heated just like that. Therefore, with this method of heating, you still need to have a backup option.
What is the heating in your private house? And if someone has gas, tell me how convenient and economical it is? Maybe someday a gas pipeline will be built to us.
