I feed the chickens with garlic, onions, beets, pine needles and pepper: the bird does not get sick and lays eggs well in winter

I started chickens this year. So that they do not get sick, I give them special food. In addition to grain, compound feed, corn and chalk, shells, wet mash, I feed a little poultry with beets, garlic, onions and peppercorns.

Beet

This vegetable cleans the chicken intestines well. Beets can be fed to chickens 1-2 times a week, both raw and boiled. It contains many vitamins that are so lacking in winter. Beets can be replaced with raw potatoes, which are grated. It also cleans the intestines well, and is given as a preventive measure.

Onion

The vegetable contains many vitamins, my chickens love it very much. You need to start giving it little by little (just add one chopped half to a wet mash every 3-4 days).

Then give 300 grams per 10 chickens 1-2 times a week in winter. If the chicken has a cold, coughs and sneezes, then I give her onion juice, diluted with water by half, in the amount of 5 cubes in a syringe for three days in a row into the beak.

Garlic

A unique product that is useful not only for humans, but also for poultry. Garlic supports the immune system of chickens. In the summer I give greens of garlic, 3-5 grams per chicken. Garlic is also a good prevention against parasites. I always give this product if the chicken shows signs of malaise, moves little, ruffles its feathers.

Garlic acts as a natural antibiotic. Garlic is said to lower the "bad cholesterol" levels in eggs. Crushed garlic can be added to water (1 clove per 1 liter of water) or, in crushed form, one clove can be added to the feed 2 times a week.

Black peppercorns

It can be added to feed. You will need half a tablespoon of the product for 15 chickens.

Needles

It helps to get rid of worms, and is also given for prevention purposes. Needles need to be harvested after severe frosts. After that, the maximum amount of vitamins is formed in the needles. The needles are collected, dried and ground, passed through a meat grinder and stored in the freezer.

Chickens should be taught to conifer needles gradually, once every three days or at least once a week. In winter, this is just a salvation for chickens. There are no problems at all to get needles, you just need to go to the forest.
