What habits can lead to tooth loss
When I read about animal life, I often envy sharks, whose teeth grow all their lives. It turns out that a person is not such a perfect being as we would like. So I recommend getting rid of some habits to keep your teeth intact until old age.
Bad habits
Today I will talk about the most common habits that contribute to tooth enamel damage. Sometimes people themselves do not notice that they are hurting their teeth.
Improper hygiene products
Earlier, when choosing toothbrushes, I was guided by price, color, shape. But I didn't think at all about the benefits of this tool for tooth enamel. The bristles on the brush should not be hard. My friend used hydrogen peroxide for bleaching. A visit to the dentist showed that she had damaged the enamel.
It turns out that you need to brush your teeth with good brushes and use special hygiene products for the oral cavity.
Teeth grinding
I have always heard that enamel on teeth is the hardest substance in the human body. But she is not so "omnipotent" either. Food colors, microbes, bacteria destroy enamel. My husband had a nasty habit of grinding his teeth. No matter how much I scolded him for that, he did not obey. As a result, several teeth had to be removed.
Solid snacks on the menu
This is perhaps the most common bad habit that I somehow got rid of myself. I really enjoyed gnawing walnuts and pine nuts, chewing dried roach, hard candies. As a result, I had to go to the dentist: cracks appeared on the enamel.
Biting nails
Many people have such a bad habit, moreover, it begins from early childhood. My daughter chewed on her nails, despite the fact that I tried hard to wean her. Do not think that soft nail plates will not damage tooth enamel. Here the point is different: the pathogenic microflora present under the nails gets into microcracks and destroys the teeth.
It's too tough
There is another addiction that destroys the hard coating of the teeth. I often see people gnawing pencils, pens, opening bottles with their teeth, biting threads and doing many other things that are harmful to health. But the teeth are not given to man for this. This is worth thinking about.
Of course, these are not all bad habits that can threaten your teeth. I advise you to get rid of them first, at least from them. Then your smile will enchant others. But, most importantly, you must visit the dentist twice a year.
