Choosing flowers for sowing seedlings in January. Stunningly beautiful and unpretentious in care
The summer season never ends for me, but flows from one phase to another. In January, I start planting flower seeds for seedlings. The days are still short, there is little sun, the seeds germinate slowly, and from sowing to flowering you have to wait 5-6 months.
I plant annual and perennial plants. All of them begin to bloom already in the year of planting. But not everything must be sown, but only slow-growing flowers.
Carpathian bell
The flower is unpretentious, does not require a special soil composition, so I chose it. I don't buy special containers, I use what I have. Sometimes I use store-bought soil, but more often I do it myself.
I take the ground as a basis, add a little peat and river sand. Charcoal is welcome, but you can do without it. The mixture must be moist. I plant the seeds after Christmas.
I put the container on the windowsill, where the sun gets the most. Seeds begin to germinate after three weeks, and massively - on days 26-27. Further, work with seedlings occurs in several stages:
· After the mass emergence of seedlings, I begin to plant them, choosing stronger shoots;
I harden every week, transfer the seedlings to a cooler place;
I apply mineral fertilizer in 14-17 days, buy liquid substances and granular substances in the store.
After May 14, but no later than May 20, I plant seedlings in the country.
Snapdragon
I sow the seeds of this flower in a somewhat unusual way, since I do not bury them to a depth and do not sprinkle them with earth. Starting to germinate, they sprout, which eventually take root in the ground.
The first shoots appear on the eighth day, and after three weeks I start diving, because already from the seedlings it is possible to determine which of the shoots is the most viable.
I plant snapdragons after May 20, until the end of the month, but I still constantly harden the seedlings. It is accepted faster and is better able to withstand external conditions.
Verbena hybrid
The flower will decorate any area, it begins to bloom in June and pleases me until the first frost. Verbena seeds are weak. I process them before planting with a growth stimulant, then they germinate more actively.
I make the soil according to the recipe:
· Earth;
· peat;
· Sand.
The ratio is as follows: three parts of land, one of peat and one of sand. The comfortable temperature for germination is no more than 20 degrees Celsius. In 12-21 days after planting, the seeds sprout, and after another 20-22 days I begin to plant the sprouts.
I do not recommend watering too often, since the seeds from abundant moisture can die, get wet. Hardening is required.
