Chainsaw attachments that not everyone knows about. Part 1

Most believe that a chainsaw can only be a chainsaw for sawing wood, for building from wood. Some manufacturers, based on their models of chainsaws, produce angle grinders - powerful grinders for cutting concrete and metal in the absence of electricity.

But almost any chainsaw can be turned into angle grinders using a nozzle.

The chain sprocket is replaced with a pulley. Instead of a tire, a nozzle tire is installed, the belt is tightened and the tire is clamped with nuts. The tire itself will fit any chainsaw, but the pulley instead of the sprocket is not universal. It is necessary to clarify which model the specific nozzle is for.

If there is space, time, tools and a welding machine, then this simple attachment can be made by yourself. But their cost is low - within 2,000 rubles. or a little more. And it is unlikely that it will be possible to save even half of this cost:

As a rule, angle grinders with cut-off wheel diameters of 150, 180 and 230 mm. On different circle diameters of different lengths, the drive belt: Z (0) 600 for a diameter of 150–180 mm and Z (0) 630 for a diameter of 230 mm. When using the angle grinder attachment, you need to drain the oil from the chain saw oil supply system.

Rotation speed of the cutting disc driven by a chainsaw: 6000-9000 rpm. But the moment on the shaft is greater than that of an electric angle grinder, so the chainsaw will cope with cutting metal or concrete. In this design, the chainsaw is often used by road builders when laying curbs.

There is a slightly modified nozzle called universal saw nozzle:

It is designed for sawing boards like a circular saw. By design, this nozzle is the same as the angle grinder nozzle, but with an additional stop so that the disc does not break out. Although this chainsaw is not scary, it has a rotation locking mechanism.

I don't know if it makes sense to use this attachment, because the board can be cut with a bar and a chain.

Simple square tube construction. The chainsaw blade is clamped inside this frame, installed on a log and the chainsaw is pushed away from itself during operation. It is important to make the first horizontal cut. To do this, a board is screwed onto the log and the frame is led along it:

Any height of receiving lumber can be set. But, of course, you need to cut within the thickness standards: 25, 50, 100, 150 mm. Similar attachments for ripping logs are produced by different manufacturers. And they are not as expensive as, for example, the mini-sawmill of the Swedish company Logosol:

The attachment is useful in places where lumber is available in logs, but there are no ready-made boards or timber. For example, someone is building a hunter's house in the taiga, a recreation center in areas remote from civilization. Or shift workers in the north are equipping an object and need a board. Yes, and in any village this attachment can come in handy. Sometimes, even from the wood in the logs, you can saw a certain amount of boards or blanks for the carpentry workshop.

The chainsaw for this attachment is needed more powerful and with a long tire, because the diameter of the logs can be large and you need to have an increased power of the gasoline tool to cut them.

Planks are often needed planed. It is clear that the type of planed wood is different and less impregnation for wood is needed for covering. And if there is no electricity, then a planer attachment for a chainsaw will help in these works:

Option with an emphasis (for processing boards) and for working with round timber (peeling off the bark). By design, the nozzle-planer is similar to the nozzle-grinder. Only the tire and belt are longer. Most models use the Z (0) 670 belt. The nozzles look like this:
