A remedy that has helped me over the years to make the Orchid bloom gorgeous. I share with you
The beauty of an orchid can only compete with its capriciousness. It can be difficult to please this amazing, exotic plant and encourage it to show its full beauty during the flowering period.
It is important to make a small reservation: a very young plant will not bloom, this is normal. If he is less than 1.5-2.5 years old, it makes sense to just wait.
Well, for adult orchids already capable of this, I have a secret that will help them please their owner with gorgeous flowers.
Making the orchid bloom
The most effective and almost the only way to guarantee the flowering of an orchid is stress on the plant. Yes, a stressful situation is the only way to cause the appearance of flowers.
The fact is that in nature, plants are not inclined to bloom when they are doing well: in situations that are comfortable for themselves, they grow leaves and stem, rapidly develop and build up the root system, so that in more difficult times it is possible to extract useful substances easier.
But it is also necessary to cause stress in the orchid in compliance with strict rules in order to achieve an effect and not harm.
· We stimulate flowering with temperature differences. It is the difference between night and day air temperatures that serves as a sign for an orchid that the necessary season has come, and instead of developing roots, it is time to bloom.
The difference can be only 4-7 degrees - warm during the day, cool at night. For this purpose, you can take the orchid out onto the balcony - but make sure that at night it is not colder than + 15... + 17 degrees.
· Stimulate the plant to bloom by drought. During the period when the plant has new buds, it makes sense to double the interval between waterings (that is, water every 4 days - water every 8). When the plant blooms, you can return to more intensive watering.
· Are flower buds in no hurry to appear? Start fertilizing the soil with nutrients such as potassium and phosphorus.
But for this period, nitrogen fertilizers should be abandoned altogether - they inhibit the development of peduncles and delay the flowering period.
Under stressful conditions, the plant stops growing leaves and roots, but begins to bloom - after a month or two.
This is a proven method that has been helping me for many years - after all, sometimes it's enough just to know the features of a flower well.
