What absolutely can not be done when sowing Petunia. Mistakes after which you will not wait for plant shoots
The most favorite flower among gardeners is petunias. They are liked by the fact that they bloom well and beautifully for a long period. There is a huge selection and assortment of petunia varieties. When grown correctly, flowers delight us with their incredible beauty.
Such an unpleasant situation may arise: petunia seeds may not sprout at all, and in the very process of vegetation, they may die altogether. Now I will share with you some tips: mistakes that should not be made when growing petunias.
The most common mistakes when sowing petunia seeds
For healthy vegetation and correct flower cultivation, several methods must be followed and adhered to:
· Seeds grow well in a light area, it is recommended to sow them on the soil surface.
Advice! It is categorically impossible to cover flower seeds with earth;
· Before sowing seeds, I recommend choosing and preparing in advance high-quality soil. The soil should be well fertile, loose and allow oxygen air to pass through.
You don't need to plant seeds directly into the ground. Before planting, it is necessary to fertilize the land with useful vitamins and minerals. This is necessary for strong and healthy flower vegetation;
· Do not leave seeds in direct sunlight. The sowing of flowers must be covered with foil on top. It is recommended at least once a day - to open and sift the seeds;
· Failure to comply with the temperature regime. The optimum temperature for good germination of petunia seeds should be +20 - +25 degrees. And when the flower seeds are already beginning to sprout, the temperature should be between +18 and +20 degrees;
· The seed coat should not be hard. Soak it in a small container of water and separate them with a toothpick.
Characteristic signs in which petunias may not grow or simply die
Petunias are very whimsical plants. Therefore, caring for them should be appropriate.
The obvious reasons for the death of a plant depend on:
Improper watering of the flower, excess moisture in the earth can lead to diseases. I recommend watering flowers from an ordinary medical syringe directly into the ground;
Not in time to remove the film from the seeds. Petunia seedlings are very small and they have no roots, therefore, when the film is removed, they can immediately die.
Advice! In no case should the transparent film be removed before the seedlings become strong and leaves begin to form.
The plant must be accustomed to gradual moisture. If the petunias begin to bloom slowly and their stem and root system becomes strong enough, then the protective film can be removed.
Petunias are very whimsical flowers in proper care. If they are grown under good observance of all processes, petunias will delight you with an excellent and beautiful appearance.
