Why did I install a solid fuel boiler directly near the front door of the house
The problem of saving energy resources has become more urgent than ever after the price of natural gas in our area rose to 40 cents per 1 m³. And it seems that this is not the limit.
Let's remember the century before last
If for private houses the main fuel in the 20th century was coal, then the use of firewood threw our society back to the century before last. However, there is nowhere to go, you have to remember your great-grandfather's and great-grandmother's skills.
Old gardens, personal and neighborhood, are a good source of fuel. Therefore, in the first year it will be possible to save even on the purchase of firewood. The main thing is to harvest them no later than summer, so that the wood has time to dry out, and the energy during combustion is not spent evaporating moisture, but for heating the housing.
Where to install a solid fuel boiler
Converting the gas heating of the house from the stove to the water one, just in case, I decided to install a solid fuel boiler. What? He does not take up much space, does not ask for food, and the master is here, at hand, assembling the equipment.
As he looked into the water. Several years have passed, about 20 m³ of firewood has accumulated in the yard and gas prices have increased significantly. It's time to try.
In general, I was pleased with the location of the boiler, near the front door to the house. This location was caused by the following factors:
1. Gas and solid fuel boilers, according to the rules for the operation of heating devices, must be located in different rooms. And since I did not build the house from scratch, but did an extension with redevelopment, there was no other free space for installation.
2. During operation, there will always be a "breakthrough" of smoke, and the close-located entrance door allows for intensive and quick ventilation of the room with the boiler.
3. Fuel delivery from the yard and ash removal takes place along the shortest "route" inside the house.
4. Firewood indoors is always the presence of at least small particles of debris. And the close location near the front door prevents them from spreading around the house.
All these assumptions have been confirmed by practice. And although I have been operating a solid fuel boiler for less than 2 months, I think that in the future I will not be disappointed with the choice of a place for installing a solid fuel boiler.
