How easy it is to make a cactus bloom

I have been breeding home flowers for a long time. It would seem that I already know a lot, I can do a lot, but each new plant is an individuality with its own preferences, habits, rules of care.

Four years ago I bought a blooming cactus. The characteristic indicates that with proper care, flowers appear in the second, maximum in the third year.

It bloomed only this year, at the beginning of winter, and not in spring. I am sure I have discovered the secret of cactus flowering. I hasten to share it with everyone.

How I cared for a cactus

I did everything that was necessary for the plant to develop well and bloom:

· Chose the soil in accordance with the preferences of the variety;

I picked up the pot by size: not too large, but not too small, since development begins from the root;

· Watered correctly, fed regularly, did not put on drafts;

· Did not move the pot unnecessarily.

That is, she did everything as expected, but the cactus did not bloom. I decided that it's all about the kids, who take all the building material necessary for pasture the bud. I removed them, but there was no result. It was necessary to come up with something dramatic.

Reeducation of cacti

Having studied the history of origin and the halo of their habitat, I realized that leaving needs to be radically changed. The ancestors of modern domestic species are accustomed to drought, little water, and significant fluctuations in daytime and nighttime temperatures.

And I created too greenhouse conditions: plenty of moisture, light too, the temperature is comfortable, mineral fertilizers on schedule. In such a microclimate, the plant has no need to work, it is already too good for it.

The first thing I did was to water less. I only moisturize when the soil in the pot begins to crack.

Last winter I took out a seedling to the balcony. It is, of course, glazed, but the temperature in the room is much lower, especially at night, than in the room, and besides there is less light. I rearranged the pot often. That is, she did the opposite, violating all agrotechnical standards for growing cacti.

But nothing, the plant withstood, withstood and hardened. However, in spring the cactus did not bloom. In the summer, I did not change the way of leaving, did not return to greenhouse conditions.

By the end of November, the long-awaited buds appeared, and in December they blossomed.

Here is my practical experience with a cactus: it bloomed after suffering stress. The main thing in the educational process is the golden mean. If you overdo it, the plant may die.
