Pumpkin pie in an electric oven for a lean table
During Orthodox fasts, I always try to cook something delicious for the family. During Lent, of course, it is undesirable to overeat, albeit lean, but tasty dishes. After all, it is intended to prepare for the holiday of Christmas, and during the fast you need to limit yourself. But the family has to be taught to lean dishes in exactly this way - through delicious.
Today she brought a squash and a pumpkin from the cellar. This year there was a wonderful harvest of pumpkin seeds, so we eat them often. And the chickens that we now, in our house, have on the farm - get it, they also peck them with pleasure.
But I want to tell you about pumpkin pie, because it is a very healthy and tasty food. I must say right away that there are people who do not like pumpkin. This vegetable, of course, is specific, not to everyone's taste. I don't want to argue with them. Who doesn't love. He will not read.
So, for making a pie, I take: pumpkin - 600 grams, vegetable oil - 1/2 cup, flour - 2 cups, sugar 1/2 cup, salt and soda (or baking powder for dough). When there is no post, I add 1 egg. But not today.
I grind all products, except flour, in a food processor to the finest consistency. Then I quickly stir in the flour to make a thick, flowing dough, which I pour into a silicone mold greased with vegetable oil. This is the best option for such a test - it will not stick or burn. A silicone mold is a wonderful thing. Which every hostess should have in her arsenal.
I bake in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes. Set the mode to bottom-top. The result is a slightly moist cake with a firm crust on top and bottom. My family members eat it with sour cream, and I eat it with honey or jam, or just like that, it's sweet.
Pumpkin is essential in the diet, because it is rich in trace elements and essential for us iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, sulfur, phosphorus, chlorine, copper, fluorine and zinc. All these elements are very scarce in Russia, so the pumpkin that has collected them bit by bit from soil and air is a real treasure.
Try this pie to add variety to your table.
