Today's advice will not be news to everyone, I think. This is how our grandmothers got rid of mustiness and kept the smell of freshness in the cabinets, protected themselves from moths. But this should be regular, not one-time.

When it comes to smell, there is more to be said for freshness than aroma. The benefits are twofold.

And my grandmother also said that in the warm season she hung out wormwood in bunches from moths until the tablets appeared on sale. But all this remained in antiquity ...

I will remind those who are trying in vain to get rid of moths: moths appear, as my grandmother said, in those closets where used clothes are put. Only fold after washing. And if you are going to wear more, then it is better to hang such things in the room separately, and not in the closet. Then there will be no food for breeding and reproduction of the moth.

Nowadays, a lot of prefabricated stands or hangers have been invented for such purposes. Here is a semblance of this design - it does not take up much space at home, it is very convenient.

I usually do a general cleaning at home once a month. Sometimes (maybe once every six months) I take out everything that is there from the cabinet, wipe it with vinegar, then water with the addition of soda, so that the vinegar smell goes away. I ventilate and fold the laundry and things into place. It doesn't take much time and effort. The main thing is that it prevents the appearance of moths and even mold and remains fresh.

I used to not wash in the closet for a long time and scented with essential oils that I liked. But still some unpleasant smell appeared. Perhaps this is from the furniture, or it would be more correct to say from the material from which the furniture is made. But now, by regular washing, airing and using the right means, I get rid of both odors and moths.

I put bath soap in the cupboards. Not flavored, but bath. You can put it on every shelf in your own wrapper. Soap dries up while lying down and even better lathers with sweat, is more economical. So there is a double benefit from such a life hack. You can change it as needed for washing. New pieces - in the cupboard, and dried from the cupboard - for washing.
