Laying ceramic tiles in the corridor, what nuances are important to consider, independent work
When choosing a material for decorative cladding of the floor area in the corridor, I considered two options - linoleum and ceramic tiles. I gave preference to tiles, since they are more resistant to mechanical stress, able to withstand constant contact with moisture, detergents.
In my case, an underfloor heating system was installed in the corridor, bathroom, kitchen and dining room, which is why the use of linoleum is simply not possible. This is due to the fact that with constant heating formaldehydes will be released, causing serious harm to the body of humans and animals.
The process of laying ceramic tiles included the following steps:
1. On top of the underfloor heating system, I laid sheets of expanded polystyrene, after which I filled everything with cement mortar.
2. The concrete base was thoroughly vacuumed to remove all the smallest particles of debris, sand, dust from the surface.
3. To ensure maximum adhesion of the cement mortar to the floor, I applied a primer mixture to it. The treatment was carried out three times, since the liquid was quickly absorbed into the concrete.
4. Prepared ceramic tiles for installation. Since it had a drawing, I first laid out all the fragments on the floor in order to mark out those elements that need cropping. Sawed the tiles with a grinder, signed each tile so as not to make a mistake when installing it.
5. I used a special mixture to fix the ceramic elements to the concrete floor surface. I leveled them with a building level, a plastic mallet. I placed crosses between the tiles.
6. At the final stage of laying, he rubbed all the seams using a special, moisture-resistant putty, in the same color tone as the ceramic tiles.
