How we spray fruit trees against pests and diseases: sharing our experience
I would like to share our experience in spraying garden trees in spring. Every year, moths, leaf rollers, caterpillars of other butterflies cause great harm to fruit trees. To save the harvest, we annually spray trees in the spring from pests and diseases.
We use Intra-Vir, Arrivo, Sherpa from chemicals in summer cottages and household plots against pests and diseases. The first spraying is carried out before bud break.
Preparation of Bordeaux liquid
It is necessary to pour 150 grams of quicklime and 100 grams of copper sulfate with a bucket of warm water and stir thoroughly.
1. If you apply the solution in this form, it will be washed off by the first spring rain. Add a little soap to it.
2. It is undesirable to process the youngest trees with this liquid.
3. We recommend treating the trees with a 3% Bordeaux liquid solution.
Summer treatment with urea and nitrophene
Also, for spraying, you can use urea (urea) quite successfully. However, it is recommended to use this remedy only if it lives on fruit trees excessive number of pests, as well as if the spraying procedure last year was not was carried out.
The tool has the peculiarity of suspending the vegetative process of the plant, but this property of the drug is a disadvantage in no way, because thanks to urea, the flowering of the tree will begin somewhat later, which reduces the risk of flowering in frosty days.
Of the modern preparations for spraying the garden, the complex preparation Nitrafen is recognized as one of the most effective.
Attention! When using urea, remember that it is strictly forbidden to mix it with superphosphate, lime or dolomite.
We carry out secondary processing with Bordeaux liquid, which was already mentioned earlier.
With the second, you can use only a one percent solution, it is quite enough to cope with those insects that remain after the first spraying.
Iron vitriol - a proven remedy for fungi and lichens
Iron vitriol has long been especially popular, and it is actively used for spring spraying. It copes better than any other means with fungi, lichens, and also caterpillars.
We use ferrous sulfate for spring processing of horticultural crops. After processing, the bark of the tree becomes elastic and takes on a healthy appearance.
After such treatments, our fruit trees always bring a bountiful harvest.
