What does the apartment of an average Turkish family look like in Turkey?
First, it should be noted that Turkey is an extremely controversial country. What is taken for granted in the west of the country is taken for granted in the east of the country. This includes both behavior and dress code.
Secondly, the country is very divided into “rich”, “middle” and “poor”. Therefore, it is impossible to argue that all the furnishings of the apartments are similar to each other. In a country house, we will not see what is in city apartments, and vice versa.
However, it should be noted the universal love of all Turks for arranging their apartments with a headset in the same style. For example, it is rare to find furniture stores here that sell individually cabinets, sofas, tables, chairs, and a TV stand. Therefore, when visiting a Turkish house, you can most likely find that cabinets, tables, chairs are decorated in the same color scheme, and moreover, this is a set.
Chairs from the same set:
In addition, sideboards are very popular here. Such as we had in the USSR. Of course, from modern materials, and quite stylish looking:
Turks do not build small apartments for themselves. You can hardly see here the studios, which are now abundant in Russia, 12-meter tiny apartments. There are studios here only in tourist areas, and built specifically for foreigners for investment purposes. A 100-meter apartment is considered a normal apartment for a Turkish family. If the family has more than one child, then sometimes a 100-meter apartment seems tiny, and the choice starts from 150 meters.
An interesting discovery was also that they do not consider the living room to be a room. The living room is a Turkish "salon". That is, if an apartment has 4 rooms, together with a salon, then they call it 3 + 1. And they are considered as "three-ruble note with a salon". Of course, at first it was difficult to get used to it.
