Replacing a boiler after seven years of operation, what we saw inside and which new model we chose
The Ethalon boiler has worked with us for 7 years. Didn't cause any complaints. He heated water quickly, always worked at the maximum heating temperature. Our water supply is decentralized. Own deep well. Coarse fabric filter at the outlet. The water is hard.
Recently, we have noticed that the boiler has become worse at heating water. The heating became longer, and it felt like there was less water in it. Water began to drip from under the lower adjustment cover. We decided to see what was the matter, we thought that the gum had deteriorated. But it turned out that during the operation, the body of the boiler rusted through.
There was a large amount of scale inside, with metal shavings and an admixture of clay. There are a large number of corrosion centers on the walls inside the boiler. At the same time, the heating element worked as it should, we did not carry out repair work. We decided to change the water heater. New - chosen by Ariston.
In terms of volume, it corresponds to our previous one, 80 liters. We hoped that we would just attach it to the same place. But the boilers have different pipe outlets and the upper fastening bar.
I had to re-solder the plastic pipes and make a new fastener in the form of hooks. The old version hung on bolts.
The new unit has a titanium inner coating that guarantees protection against corrosion.
On the outer surface there is a separate heating sensor in the form of a display, where it is displayed whether the water is completely heated or not yet. Manual adjustment.
The new boiler is completely satisfactory. The warranty period of its work is 5 years, but I hope that it will work longer, due to the resistant internal metal coating.
The water heats up quickly, there is no airiness. At maximum heating, boiling water is obtained, it is impossible to touch it with your hand. Energy consumption is economical.
