One of such cases is currant cuttings. In order to have time to prepare cuttings for obtaining early currant seedlings, you should do this in February, because in spring it will be too late and they will not have time to ripen by winter.

If you do everything on time, then by the spring, or rather in May, the cuttings will be ready for planting and will be able to take root and gain strength for the winter.
Cutting options

1. Most often, cut cuttings are placed in a jar of water or in another glass container. The water in which the cuttings will stand should be boiled to destroy harmful microorganisms.

Such water can not be completely changed, but only topped up so that the level does not drop.

2. You can use another method, which is not so common among gardeners, but is very effective.

You will need sphagnum moss or sawdust, which must be moistened and placed in a plastic bag.

Then we take the cutting and cut off the lower part, about 2 buds. After that, we put the cuttings in a bag and tie it. The cuttings will be in it, as if in a greenhouse.

They are kept there for 10 days in a dark place, and then taken out into the light.
The most important thing for the two options is warmth and lack of draft, which accelerates the appearance of roots on cuttings.

If there are enough roots, you can plant them in the soil and then in the garden.

In the first year of flowering shrubs, flowers should be removed so that young plants do not waste energy on fruiting and more berries appear on them the next year.
