Adjustable pliers are a versatile and very useful tool. This device can work with many types of threaded connections; securely grip round, square or hexagonal sections. But due to the hardened teeth on the jaws, the adjustable pliers always leave scratches on the surfaces. How to avoid this - read on.

How to handle delicate surfaces

It so happens that you need to mount the water liners, and you really don't want to leave scratches on the fittings. Or you need to unscrew the copper connection, hold the stainless steel tube, but do it all without defects. The first thing that comes to mind is to put a piece of thick fabric. But this method is unreliable: the teeth easily damage the fabric and still spoil the surface.

To prevent this from happening, you need to make special pads on the lips of the ticks. This requires two pieces of rubber or silicone hose. You just need to put them on the sponges of plumbing pliers. This will make it possible to securely grip delicate parts and not leave damage in the form of scratches on them.

In order not to lose

Overlays are extremely useful, but they are not always necessary and they can get lost. In order not to waste time looking for another hose and not to spoil property, the linings must be stored somewhere.

The most comfortable place is the handle of the pliers. If the handles of the tool are not dielectric (thick), then the linings can be stored on them. And the dielectric handle can be disassembled: remove the handle cover, put the pieces of hose on it and put it back.
