How we grow strong seedlings of super early tomatoes "Alpha" in February: sharing our personal experience

To get the earliest harvest of tomatoes, we sow seeds in cups in February. It is necessary to organize the illumination of the seedlings, since in February the daylight hours are short.

First of all, for disinfection, we soak the seeds for a quarter of an hour in a pink solution of potassium permanganate.

An important stage is the selection and preparation of soil and seed. It is difficult to find high-quality peat during the planting season, so you need to prepare or buy it in advance. Turf, humus and sand are added to the peat.

We cover the seeds with plastic wrap to create a humid microclimate. When the first shoots appear, we remove the shelter so that it does not interfere with the development of young plants.

We dive tomatoes at the age of 30 days. A pick is the transplanting of seedlings from a container into the ground or other container with a pinch of the root tip.

Tip: Aloe juice is a good biostimulant and perfectly disinfects seeds from many diseases.

To do this, the leaves of this plant must be ground in a mixer, filtered through cheesecloth. The miraculous drug is ready. Tomato seeds are soaked in it for 12 hours at room temperature. The excess juice is drained. Such treatment has an excellent effect on the growth properties of seeds. As a result, they give amicable, fast and viable shoots. This has a positive effect on the yield of tomatoes.

After planting seedlings in open ground, we mulch the soil.

Tip: During the budding period, the extract from pine shoots stimulates the formation of ovaries and promotes faster fruit ripening.

An extract from pine shoots is prepared as follows. Young pine shoots are kept in a refrigerator or cellar for 6 - 8 days, why they are crushed, poured with water (for 2 parts of water, 1 part shoots), bring to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes on low heat, cool, filter, dilute the extract with water (1: 3) and spray the tops tomatoes.

Do not water at the root. Needles can be used for pest control.
