Where to get vitamins in winter
In winter, the body has a hard time - there is less sun, less cold, the air is dry in the premises due to heating, which reduces immunity. To maintain it, it is important to eat fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. For myself, I solved the problem of replenishing vitamin C and microelements by growing fresh herbs on the windowsill.
Preparatory work
For planting greens, I had only one oblong pot, and I planned to plant both onions and dill with parsley. Having crossed the Internet, I decided to use a five-liter bottle as a second vessel. To do this, you need to cut it vertically, cutting off a little less than half.
I chose a universal primer. It contains enough trace elements and nutrients for good green growth, even in low light conditions.
It is better to take medium-sized bulbs for planting, in husks, dry. Be sure to check that the vegetable is not rotten. To do this, gently press down - the presence of soft, "falling" areas indicates damage.
I chose fresh dill and parsley seeds (this year). She preferred early ripening, high-yielding varieties - dill Gribovsky and parsley Bogatyr.
Planting dill and parsley
First of all, we prepare the seeds. To do this, we soak them in warm water for 2-3 days. I used disposable plastic cups (one for parsley and one for dill). She wrapped the seeds in gauze, put them in a glass and poured a little water - so that the gauze was well damp, but there was practically no free (not absorbed) water. She put the cups on the windowsill above the radiator and constantly monitored so that the gauze did not dry out. Topped up with water a couple of times a day.
Before planting, we also soak the onion in warm water, but for 15 minutes. The tops can be trimmed slightly.
At the bottom of the container we lay out the drainage from the stones, pour the earth on top. We make holes for seeds and plant them, cover them with earth, water them abundantly. The bulbs should sink about a third into the ground. The optimum temperature for greenery is + 15 + 20 ° C. When the first shoots appear, you can thin out the dill and parsley a little.
