We made a wooden slide near our house, but the children like the snow pile more.
For my daughter and her many friends from among the neighbour's children, we made a small slide in the garden of our house in the fall. We thought that we would fill it in in winter, and the kids would ride from a reel on tubing.
The slide was made of boards, painted in different colors. The sliding surface was made of a sheet of linoleum, on which the kids slid perfectly. Of course, when it rained, a puddle formed below and the slide became forbidden for games.
But when winter came, it turned out that the hill, which seemed high, suddenly almost disappeared under a layer of snow. Children run along it, but it is impossible to ride, picking up speed from it. Therefore, such a structure does not cause interest. Moreover, somehow imperceptibly our kids grow up and they have other interests.
In winter, removing the paths, all the snow was thrown into a heap. And soon she became so tall that the children began to skate with it. Moreover, during the thaw, the snow thickened, and then froze. They went down the hill, climbed on it and they had fun.
Then we decided to refine this makeshift reel so that kids can safely climb on it. We made steps and poured some water over them to keep them in shape.
The hill itself was compacted and several times during frosts it was poured from a hose. Now it has become a real coil.
Since then, when the weather permits, in our garden there has been a real pilgrimage of the neighbors' children. Fortunately, we have no fence in one place due to construction, and the entrance is completely free.
Every day the children roll out more and more downhill and leave further and further. We began to think about making a restrictive shaft at the end of the garden, otherwise they could crash into the fence. After all, tubing is a completely uncontrollable thing.
We like that children play in the fresh air, just like we did during our happy childhood, so we are always ready to create good conditions for them.
