It is better to process wood before construction

Many people carry out antiseptic processing of lumber when it is already assembled into a structure. For example: the rafter system is ready and only after assembly is it treated with biosecurity. This method seems to be the most convenient, because you do not need to turn over each board and apply a solution to it.

But this processing takes longer and loses quality. In this case, it is impossible to process connections, joints and other hard-to-reach places. It is better to antisept lumber before construction - it is faster, more convenient and of better quality.

What is needed for this

The best way to handle wood is submersible. Lumber must be immersed in a container with an antiseptic or fire protection. To do this, you need to make a box and cover it with cellophane. You will get a container for an antiseptic solution.

If it is necessary to process six-meter boards, then the box should be 6.5 meters long. The width and depth of the box are arbitrary and are calculated depending on the volume of wood that needs to be processed. For example, so that 5 boards or 2 pillars can be placed in the container at a time.

If there is no suitable material for building a box, you can dig a hole along the length and width of the lumber to be processed and cover it with cellophane. It will turn out to be a kind of technical pool for submersible timber processing.

To make it convenient to immerse boards, bars or pillars in the container, it is necessary to make grips. This is a kind of hooks for grabbing lumber. It is best to make them from reinforcement.

How to process

Everything is done very simply. A working solution is prepared from the biosecurity concentrate. The manufacturer indicates the proportions on the label. The working solution is poured into a container, and then the lumber is immersed in it for 2–5 minutes.

The optimum temperature for such processing is from +5 to +25 degrees Celsius. After antiseptic treatment, the wood should dry out a little and it can be used.

This method of antiseptic treatment is of the highest quality, since there are no untreated places on the lumber.
