Connection of wires without insulation, cutting, twisting. New way with T-piece

Sometimes it is necessary to branch off the wires to an existing line. The most common method used earlier is twisting. But experienced electricians speak extremely negatively about twists. Twisting is allowed only if the wires are the same: copper to copper, aluminum to aluminum.

Instead of twisting, they also use different pads that are approved by the PUE. But to use such a device, you need to cut the wire. Moreover, the terminal block requires periodic pinning and maintenance. There is no reliability in this method.

Various piercing clips are available for sale. I'll tell you about T-shaped couplers (below is the whole principle of operation). They are designed for quick installation. No stripping, soldering, wire twisting required.

A set of connectors, OB-T taps came to me quickly. The package contains 20 pieces. The products have a simple design and an easy operating principle.

The wire fits into a special latch. The brass piece breaks through the insulation layer of the wire. The result is an excellent and fast branch off from the main line.

Connectors are different. They differ in color. Suitable for wires from 0.25 - 6 mm2. I bought a blue one.

It is necessary to choose the right tap for a specific section. If you neglect the condition, then you can transfer the core or the contact will not be tight, bad.

So let's go in order. We lay the main wire, as shown in the photo.

We snap the case with our hands or gently using the pliers until it clicks. The brass element pierces the insulation.

Now we take the wire and insert it into the nylon case ("daddy"). Nylon was not chosen by chance. The material is durable, elastic, heat resistant. We squeeze with pliers, as shown in the photo.

Then we put everything together. If necessary, you can disconnect the branch and connect another wire.

The use of such connectors is good for quick installation. It is not necessary to isolate the junction, since the case itself is an insulator.

However, such devices are good in low-current networks of no more than 36 volts (car wires, video surveillance, alarms, Internet, telephony, etc.). In stationary wiring - doubtful and I would not recommend it.

Many people use it for inserting into the standard wiring of a car. For example, connect a socket for a trailer, etc.
