Warehouse or a cozy little bedroom? 6 effective storage ideas
Probably the biggest problem with small spaces is the lack of storage space at all. Therefore, it is sometimes very difficult to place and hide out of sight “all the most important things”! But I said - practically! There is still a chance!
Good afternoon dear friends!
Have you ever had such that before buying this or that thing (especially if it is moderately voluminous), the first thing you think about is “Where will I keep it later?”. Or “As soon as you empty the cupboard, it’s full again”? I think most of the people answered in the affirmative ...
And all because the house does not have enough space to store all the "overpriced" that we have accumulated. I can already imagine how it flew at me - "Captain Evidence" and so on. I perfectly understand that most of us are happy owners of miniature apartments. However, even a small space is capable of large investments. Let's discuss this today and discuss it using the example of a bedroom!
1. Functional headboard. The headboard does not have to be only beautiful, it can also be practical. And we are not talking about banal bedside tables. For in conditions of a miniature space, it is better to replace them with more spacious cabinets (mini size) in the same style as the rest of the furniture.
This solution will help you not only structure the space, but also decently free up space around the bed.
2. Built-in wardrobe. It is best to try to hide (veil) furniture in a small space. Therefore, built-in, hidden and multifunctional furniture is the key to success in creating a practical and aesthetic interior.
For example, it is better to make a bulky factory closet built-in, and hide its facades with mirrors to add volume and light to a tiny space.
3. Space on either side of the window. The wall on which the window is located very often remains unused in apartments. And in vain! But it is precisely this space that can be adapted for a storage system. Open shelves, spacious wardrobes, a work desk... Believe me, the potential is endless.
Of course, chic curtains and openwork tulle bring zest to the interior, but if you fight for every square centimeter, then the choice will be obvious.
4. High bed. How long have you been on the train?! In this case, it doesn't matter what the answer will be. I just wanted you to remember: how is the issue of luggage on trains resolved? Correctly! The luggage is hidden under the berth. At the same time, a huge number of trunks can fit in a tiny space. So why don't you apply a similar method in your home?
Podium bed, bed with hidden bottom, bed with built-in drawers, etc. Such constructions have an inexhaustible potential for storing all your household belongings.
5. Practical wall. Just like on both sides of the window, you can organize the storage system on both sides of the door. From the architectural point of view, it will be something like "building up" the wall. Or a wardrobe veiled under an interior partition.
This gives you a practical storage space. And a lot! In this case, it is better to choose facades that are simple and concise, close to the style of the interior, so as not to overload the already modest space.
6. Decorative technique. All things and accessories in the bedroom can be divided into 2 parts. Some are acceptable for demonstration, but others are better hidden in a closet out of sight. For this separation, you can use the following decorative technique.
A bright cabinet-niche with open shelves for books, souvenirs, photographs... And an almost invisible chest of drawers-headboard, made in a neutral tone, and with closed drawers. Where can bed linen, towels and other intimate items of clothing be stored.
