A laboratory for the study of one-dimensional materials will be opened in Vladimir this year
The first laboratory of this type in Russia will be created at the facilities of the Vladimir State University on the day of knowledge already this year (09/01/2021). And it is there that scientific research on one-dimensional materials will be carried out in collaboration with engineers from Westlake University (China).
One-dimensional materials, why they are so important
So, in the laboratory being created, the so-called one-dimensional materials will be studied, which are ordered media spatially limited exclusively in two directions in the form of an infinite chain of atoms.
In fact, this is a very important work, because the scope of application of these materials is actually very wide. So, using these elements, it will be possible to create ultra-small electrical circuits in which the thickness of the wires will be only one atom.
In the not so distant future, thanks to such schemes, it will be possible to create electronic devices. ultra-small sizes, and they can also be used in special medical implants and much more Where.
In addition, it was also reported that cooperation between Russian and Chinese research groups started back in 2019, when a cooperation agreement was concluded between the two universities.
And at the very beginning of 2021, engineers from Vladimir already have a patent for one of the stabilization options for one-dimensional structures that ensure reliable fixation of the finest matter in the chain and reliably prevent the transition to volumetric structure.
So the workers of the future laboratory in Vladimir will begin to perform the synthesis of one-dimensional materials, which in further study at a Chinese university with the use of high-tech equipment. The work has been planned for a year ahead. So we will look forward to new discoveries and promising developments in the future.
