How Denmark came up with the idea of saving water with small bathrooms
Denmark is seriously concerned about the gradual depletion or pollution of water sources. The Danes approach the rational use of water at the state level: water bills are simply cosmic! A certain threshold has been set for the consumption of liters of water, after which the bills become simply unaffordable for payment even for citizens who earn decent money by the standards of Denmark.
Do not be surprised if, as guests in a Danish house, you are asked to save water, and, for example, that you turn off the water when you soap your hair (so that it does not overflow in vain). They are not greedy at all. Just when the threshold is exceeded, the utility bill can easily become more than half of the Danish salary.
There is another way to save water that Danish developers have come up with. Now, almost no houses are being built, in which a large bathroom has been provided. Most new homes have a bathroom of no more than 5-6 square meters. A small bathroom can fit either a shower or a very small bathroom like this one:
The logic is as follows: it is impossible to pour a large amount of water into a small bathtub, therefore, the consumption will decrease. In general, the Danes managed to reduce the amount of water consumed by such measures.
Bathrooms with windows are popular in the sleeping areas of Copenhagen. This is an old building, in which the bathrooms were provided for a large area, and, accordingly, the bathrooms there are also large.
Bathrooms this large are inconvenient to heat and consume too much water when taking a bath. Here, the residents themselves are showing their conscience and replacing the baths with smaller ones.
