Sowing is carried out in April-May, when the soil at the seeding depth warms up to 10-12 degrees.

Attention! You can't rush to sowing, because in cold soil, seeds can be affected by fungal diseases, their germination, which is why seedlings are rare, and the site can be heavily overgrown with weeds that inhibit tender seedlings soybeans.

Soybean seeds are sown in grooves to a depth of 5-6 cm, the distance between rows is 45 cm, between plants in a row is 5-10 cm. In vegetable gardens, rows of soybeans can be placed along the borders of ridges and as a curtain crop on cucumber, melons and other low-growing crops. It is highly desirable, especially if it is hot dry weather and the soil dries out, to water the grooves before sowing, which creates the necessary moisture supply for seed germination.

Plant care includes regular weeding and loosening of the soil, especially at first, while the plants are still weak. It is advisable to mulch the beds or rows of soybeans with humus or peat.

Watering, especially in dry conditions, is a prerequisite for a good soybean crop. Water in 7-10 days, giving 300-400 liters of water per 10 sq. m., and in the future - 500-600 liters. If you have difficulty with water, you should water it at least during budding and bean formation.

In Japan and China, where soybeans have been cultivated for almost a thousand years, countless dishes are prepared from its grains: milk, cottage cheese, sauces, imitate meat dishes - stews, cutlets, sausages.

I am sharing with you some recipes from this amazing plant.

How to make flour

To prepare many dishes, it is necessary to obtain flour from grain. For this, the seeds must be peeled and ground, at least in a coffee grinder. Flour turns out to be tastier if the grains are previously held for 10 minutes in a sealed container over steam, then dried. It is not worth grinding a lot for the future, because after a couple of weeks the flour will turn rancid.

Mayonnaise

Take 2 tablespoons of soy flour, 0.5 tablespoon of mustard, 1 tablespoon of sugar, salt and pepper to taste and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, 4 tablespoons of vegetable oils. Combine everything except the butter and whisk. Then add butter in very small portions and continue whisking. The more vigorously you whisk, the better the mayonnaise will be.

Most meals can be prepared without grinding the grain.

Pate

Soybeans are soaked for a day (2 liters of water are taken for 500 g of beans). Change the water twice during the day. After the beans have been boiled in 2-3 liters of water for 1.5 hours, change the boiling water and cook until tender. Duration of cooking is not less than three hours. Then grind the beans by passing them through a meat grinder. Season the pate with stewed onions, add a few chopped cloves of garlic. Add soybean oil or soy sauce, as well as a lot of spices: allspice (peas), red ground pepper and cloves (chop all the spices).
