DIY concrete oven: cheaper and easier than steel counterparts
Is it realistic to make a reliable heating device with your own hands for a modest sum of 1,000 rubles, having only simple tools and leftovers of building materials at hand?
Asking this question, I came across this video and was quite surprised. I propose to watch it, and below - to discuss the viability of this idea.
For the manufacture of a stove-stove, the author uses cement, sand, water (for mixing concrete), as well as an empty plastic bucket and several plastic ventilation pipes with a circular cross-section.
With an ordinary drill with a crown, we cut holes in the bucket, install the pipes and fill the cavity with concrete. For additional strength, you can reinforce the mixture with mesh or rebar scraps.
We figured out the manufacture. What about reliability?
But I personally doubt the reliability of the oven. On the one hand, concrete is a fairly refractory material. On the other hand, I have heard stories that concrete "shoots" at strong heating. But I didn’t see it with my own eyes. If you have such experience, write a comment, it will be interesting.
In the meantime, I am thinking of installing such a stove in the backyard barbecue area for small evening gatherings.
