Harvest varieties of onions from the most resistant to pests with excellent keeping quality and not subject to onion fly
Greetings to all who have come to my useful channel!
I have already written a review of summer cottage goods from Fix Price. Of the others, I also mark it if I see it on the action. But since the dacha business - sowing and planting is about to begin (time is running fast in an incomprehensible way ...), I decided to remind the readers of my preferences from the personal experience of the dacha.
All recommendations are made exclusively from my personal life and the experience of my friends, relatives and just close summer residents. We plant these varieties from year to year.
Today I will describe the varieties of onions that are well stored in the first place. Also resistant to pests.
BUT there is a BUT. I still advise you to look more closely at the spicy varieties of onions, since the onion fly does not particularly like them, they are stored perfectly for a very long time. In general, spicy varieties are much less susceptible to disease. The only disadvantage of the spicy ones is a significantly lower yield than that of mild and sweet ones.
And here is a selection the most productive of the spicy varieties onions.
Between the lines, let me insert links to other posts from my channel:

To begin with, I want to note that the advertised variety "Kaba" is absolutely didn't like only because it is so weak against pests and diseases that they are tortured to handle. Because of all this, apparently, it was poorly stored afterwards. Therefore, I do not recommend Kabu.
And of those that I recommend, the first is Texas Yellow. The yield can reach up to 150 grams each onion, but cannot be stored for a long time, it is better to plant it in order to eat it in summer and autumn. Well, or until the new year. But it did not rot at all.
"Strigunovsky local" - so far I love most of all. Drought or unstable weather mean little to him. The variety is the sharpest of all that I have tried, when I clean - I always "cry" profusely. It has a very durable husk, it is stored just fine! I did not observe any pests or diseases during the growth period, or rotting during storage. The maximum weight of the bulbs can be up to 80 grams. 3-5 bulbs grow in one nest.
Spicy hybrid variety "Centurion F1" - praised by many, not only me. Does not shoot, is not afraid of pests or diseases. Bulbs up to 100 gr. can grow. In the cellar, you can safely store it for a year, in a smaller home apartment environment.
"Red Baron" surprised me with its excellent preservation right up to spring. Red onions are said to have a lot more antioxidants. If you want to achieve large bulbs in the end, then it is better to plant in seedlings. Drought is not a problem for this variety. City summer residents will especially like it.
I will include in this list "Opporto" (semi-sweet), "Stuttgarden" (medium-sharp), and "Red salad" (semi-sharp early ripening) - these are varieties according to reviews with good keeping quality, but they are not spicy. Although summer residents who have tried it say that pests and diseases practically do not affect. The yield of these varieties is really very good.
