No wonder I put mortgages in the foundation slab. How I made simple and effective ventilation for the basement.

It rarely happens at my construction site, but still the result was the one I had planned, and for which I had been preparing two years ago ...

Friends, hello everyone! The work of a self-builder is, in most cases, improvisation.

Especially if, like me, without a project, experience and assistants ...

Of course I plan a lot of things in advance, but while it comes down to them, a lot can change.

And now, one of the rare cases when the opposite is true.

The mortgages for ventilation of the basement were made at the stage of foundation construction.

And all the time while the walls were being erected, the roof was being mounted and everything else, they were waiting in the wings.

And now the time has come ...

I decided to make a final fight with the basement.

This room will be useful to me in the near future, so I need to bring it to a state of fitness. And to start doing anything there at all, you need to organize normal ventilation.

In general, I have already done a temporary version in the summer. But then the roof was not yet insulated, and the fan was blowing directly into the room.

But now it is still cold, and everything is already insulated, so you need to do the final, normal version.

• In one of the previous articles, I wrote that I do not want to make exits in the roof, but I will carry out everything through the walls, and do forced ventilation.
• I bought the channels 100 mm, round.
• And he arranged everything, taking into account the fact that with further finishing, everything will be hidden.

✅ The laser level was marked.

✔ The vertical channel was clearly marked vertically.

✔ And the horizontal part with a slight slope towards the street, to drain off possible condensation.

✅ Then it was necessary to make a passage in the wall.

For this I used a special concrete nozzle. In the gas block, she did not strain at all, and cut like clockwork.

✅ And then, the channels themselves have already been edited.

• First, I installed special clamps.
• And already in them I fixed the pipes.

The transition from the mortgage had to be made a flexible channel. In fact, it is very convenient, and there is no need to select adapters and adjust everything to the desired angle.

And the main thing was to connect a 110 pipe with a 100-m diameter.

Since the mortgages were made from a sewer pipe, we had to do a little collective farm to connect it to the ventilation pipe.

Although I don't understand why there are no such adapters on sale? At least I haven't found ...

Here I was helped by the remnants of the sealant that I used for the vapor barrier of the roof. Everything is sealed and durable.

Well, don't forget about the air flow.

It is made in a similar way with access to the street. Only everything is much shorter.

Now the main thing is for everything to function.

And here there were some nuances, and something surfaced ...
