Review of large-fruited, fleshy, high-sugar tomatoes. I share last year's experience of growing
My favorite tomatoes are large-fruited, fleshy, high-sugar varieties. Their color is different: pink, orange, red, brown. The taste is unusual and unique, complex and full-bodied. In addition, there are very few such varieties, and they are still not often found in collections.
A separate category is “black” tomatoes.
The more sun such a plant receives, the more anthocyanin will appear in the fruit. For me, they are usually painted as dark as possible, because I do not shade or protect my tomato beds in any way.
The influence of the elements is also a significant influence: winds, rains, temperature drops - all this affects the color of the fruits, in other words, the more tomatoes "get", the brighter and darker they will be. By the way, it's the same with taste: the more the influence of the elements, the tastier the fruits.
Tomato Pink Cone
Early maturing semi-determinant variety. The bush grows up to one and a half meters in height. The tomato is of medium ripening, the harvest begins in mid-July. The taste is excellent. The pulp contains a large amount of sugars. A small number of seeds are formed in the seed chambers.
Volgograd pink (undersized)
Deep pink fruit. In a state of full biological ripeness, they become crimson. Delicious, fleshy, aromatic.
Scarlet Mustang Tomato
Indeterminate, large-fruited variety. It became famous among gardeners and truck farmers due to its high taste. The fruits reach 300 grams. The plant can reach a height of 2.5 m. Cultivation must be carried out in two stems. When choosing a site for planting, it must be borne in mind that since the plant is indeterminate, it needs a place protected from the winds and preferably with good lighting.
Korean long-fruited
As a rule, this variety is used for conservation, but it is also quite suitable for growing for sale. The fruits are rather large, fleshy, and plum-shaped. If they are grown for commercial purposes, then harvesting must be done while the tomatoes are in what is called a state of technical maturity.
Donetsk Tomato
Early maturing, determinant variety. The plant is unpretentious, not tall. Can be grown without tying and pinching. Donetsk tomato is very fruitful, characterized by excellent keeping quality. Dislikes acidic soils.
Cosmic eclipse
The pulp is brown-burgundy. Weight: 60-80g. Bush size: tall. Appointment: salad. Features: a rather rare spectacular variety. On acidic soils, there will be no good harvest. The fruits reach 150 grams, when fully ripe, they acquire a bright red color, the shape is slightly flattened.
