EPS inside my house. Many people are afraid that it is harmful, but it only makes me smile 😁.

Talking about environmental friendliness and naturalness in our time, in any area, just calm yourself. And construction is no exception. At my construction site, I start from this.

Friends, greetings to all! I come across discussions about the dangers and benefits of this or that material throughout the construction of my house.

And the most striking example that causes controversy is EPS, which is now used in most construction projects, but to which many are even afraid to approach ...

Already in several previous articles, I described how I insulated my slab foundation from the inside, namely with EPPS (read more on my channel). And some readers said that I did it in vain and I need to escape from such a house.

But I'm not going to leave... 😁

These disputes, about the harm and benefits, I observe constantly, where this topic arises. And there is no end to it.

But how did I decide to use this material for internal work?

Research results, any certifications, advice from sellers?

❗ No, I didn't count on that!

And one, and the second, and the third can now be found with completely opposite data. So you cannot rely on this with complete certainty.

✅ I rely more on common sense and simple logic.

The fact that EPS will emit harmful substances is for sure! But they are not harmful, and their concentration. From this I also repelled.

• In my case, a concrete screed will be poured over the expanded polystyrene. Yes, this is not a 100% barrier for the release of various vapors, but the rate of their entry into the room will definitely decrease.
• At the same time, I do not plan to lay underfloor heating in the screed. That is, there will be no strong heating of the insulation, which provokes the evaporation of harmful substances.
• And finally, EPS is only some part of all materials that can emit something harmful.

Laminate, linoleum, pvc windows, furniture, etc... Why do people forget about it? It is not possible in our time to make a house completely eco-friendly (at least for a reasonable price).

Based on this, I think you need to focus on one thing!

Good ventilation of all rooms. Previously, I myself did not attach much importance to this, but high-quality ventilation is the most important component of any home.

And, in my opinion, this will resolve all issues.
