Penetrating waterproofing is the last hope for my basement. Trying to get rid of the water, once and for all.

They say that if the basement is leaking, then it cannot be fixed. But I'm not giving up ...

Friends, a big hello to everyone. Probably looking at my basement (3 by 3, and 1.5 meters high), many will say that it is easier to cover it with sand and not suffer.

But I have big plans for him.

• Firstly, there is the sewerage system.

• Also, water is entered into the basement.
• And most importantly, there I will have a purification system for water (this is another ambitious project).

But nature does not want to give in in any way.

For the umpteenth time, I have been struggling with groundwater that finds loopholes in the concrete walls of my basement.

✅ Of course, all mistakes were made from the very beginning, when I just started building the house. And he started it all with filling the basement.

No waterproofing on the outside (film does not count), only concrete, which was poured and compacted by hand.

I eliminated all the leaks that appeared in the first year and quite successfully. But now the third year has been going on, and periodically, the water finds microscopic paths, and little by little puddles appear.

At the same time, in some parts of the wall, it feels like they are saturated with water.

✔ Experiment with liquid glue failed.

All this layer of cement with liquid glue, just began to fall off after a year, and did not help in any way.

We will use special materials.

✔ Namely penetrating waterproofing.

I had already heard about this remedy before, but it all seemed to me some kind of incomprehensible miracle.

It seems to be the same cement mortar, only with some additives that penetrate into the concrete structure and close the capillaries, preventing water from seeping. Well, just some miracles.

But I can only hope for magic.

For the price, not to say that it is very expensive, but comparatively and not cheap. I bought somewhere for 1000 r. per bag 15 kg (took 3, just in case).

It is easy to mix.

It turns out a fairly liquid solution, which is convenient to apply with a brush.

Before applying, be sure to remove visible leaks, and abundantly wet the surface with water. Here I didn't have to try too hard, everything was already raw 😁.

Everything is easy and simple... This is alarming.

Is it possible that such a simple method will give a good result?

After applying the first layer, this question tormented me. And not in vain, everything turned out to be not so simple. But these sequels are a separate story.
