Life on a powder keg: I tell you what it is like to coexist with alcoholic criminals

Neighbors can be different: friendly or harmful; withdrawn or sociable; noisy or quiet. But you must admit that this is not the main thing, but that they, the neighbors, are safe. Namely, they did not accidentally burn themselves down and did not burn other people's houses. But this also happens! Our interlocutor Igor told why his life was like being on a powder keg for a whole year and how it ended.

Life on a powder keg: I tell you what it is like to coexist with alcoholic criminals

Before everything was quiet

We bought our house in 2012. This is a second home - a well-kept wooden house built in the seventies. The yard is small - only 3 ares. This is the peculiarity of the area: here all the buildings are old and stuck close to each other. But after living in a cramped Khrushchev, it seemed to us like paradise.

When choosing a house, they looked not only at the area, but also at the neighbors. It is this house that is closely adjacent to the neighbor's. Once it was one site, divided into two parts. In general, the houses are close by.

There was a lonely man of fifty in the neighborhood. Not a drinker, decent, calm, economic. We liked him at first sight and we decided that there would be no problems with him.

Indeed, over the years, he helped us, and we helped him. The fence between our courtyards is symbolic and has a gate. We quietly went on vacation, and a neighbor, his name was Damir, watered the garden, fed the dog and cat, looked after the house. In general, we lived well and calmly.

The criminal son returned

Everything changed dramatically in 2019. It turned out that Damir has a son and all this time he was serving his sentence in a correctional colony. We didn't know about it. After the expiration of his term of imprisonment, he came to his father. The first week everything was quiet, and then it began ...

One night, a scandal with screams broke out from the neighbors. What they found out, I don't know, but the next morning Damir left with his things. He said that he was to see his sister for a week, but he did not appear there for a year and a half.

During this time, his son made a real brothel out of the house. He began to drink, a company of the same criminals formed around him. They lived there as a whole. They drank every day, fought and made noise every other day. Naturally, this also affected us - constant night screams did not allow us to sleep.

After about a week, I decided to talk to Damir's son, but it didn’t bring any results. He was in a deranged state and did not understand anything. I began to think about what to do if this is how it will continue.

Delirium tremens

Once, after another drinking binge, our new neighbor tried to open his veins, and then ran down the street naked with a bloody hand. The spectacle is still something! Accordingly, we called the police. They took him away and then put him in a narcology clinic. It was delirium tremens - a consequence of chronic alcoholism and monthly binge.

Silence reigned for a while, as the district police officer took the whole company from there. While the owner was not at home, and, it turns out, the house belonged to Damir's son, guests did not appear there. Rather, someone was once and took away the TV from the house, but this did not affect me in any way.

In the absence of a neighbor (he was gone for a month), I installed a solid wooden fence between the yards. I wanted to make it out of a metal profile, but it's too noisy.

Year of torment

The next year we lived like a powder keg. The neighboring courtyard was often visited by asocial personalities. There are constant booze and fights, drunken girls yelling, criminals sing chanson, alcohol and mud blowing from the house, which usually smells of homeless people.

The police visited there, but could not help. They say: “If he commits a crime, we will jail him! In the meantime, we can only occasionally, and even then, for a maximum of 15 days can pick up. "

I was tired of everything and I calmed this criminal himself once. Rather, not himself, but turned to a classmate who went through fire and water in the nineties. He put things in order, but not for long.

Most unwanted problem

Every month the neighbor drank himself more and more and could no longer control his actions. Once I noticed smoke from his window on the street side. So that there was no fire, I called people, and we entered the house, since it is never locked.

A mattress was burning, on which a guest of our neighbor fell asleep with a cigarette. As you can imagine, he was in a state of extreme alcoholic intoxication. He didn't even wake up when he was thrown out into the street with the mattress.

After that, they had another fire, but they extinguished the fire on their own. This really puzzled me, because next to my garage, and through it and the house. In hot weather, everything will burn in one fell swoop!

Interchange

As time went on, we gradually got used to the nervous state. I already knew that this would not last long and foresaw three options for the development of events that should end this nativity scene. The first - his friends will bang him drunk. The second - he will be jailed. The third - the house will burn down.

One of my predictions came true. In the fall, this house was cut off from the gas supply for debts. With the cold weather, the neighbor began to drown himself with homemade electric heaters, which led to the fire.

It was at night. I don't know what kept me awake, but I went out into the courtyard at four in the morning and noticed smoke over the neighbor's house. He tumbled in from two distant windows. I immediately called the firefighters and rushed to call for help.

We managed to wake up the alcoholics, but a fire broke out in the house. There was nothing to extinguish on their own, since the water in the column was turned off for the winter. I left the car fire extinguishers as a last resort if the fire spreads to my garage.

The firefighters arrived ten minutes later. By this time, the house was burning inside, the fire spread to the attic. The building was extinguished. In general, the walls remained intact, everything inside burned down and the attic was badly damaged. In addition, firefighters flooded the house with water and knocked out all the windows. As a result, it turned into an uninhabitable object.

“Finally, the long-awaited peace awaits you,” the district police officer told me. I was sincerely glad that everyone was alive and that the problem was solved. The eternally drunken nativity scene has left this dwelling!

The music did not play for long ...

We didn't have to rejoice for a long time. Literally two months later, new owners appeared in the house and they were gypsies. Somehow, or rather, for alcohol and a little money, they re-registered the home ownership for themselves and in the spring they decided to make repairs and move in. Now I'm thinking about selling my house ...
