Full spectrum lamps or phytolamps. But why do they have purple light?
Probably, many have noticed the violet illumination in the windows of the apartments. When I first saw it, I thought it was decorative lighting. But this light is not the most pleasant one.
Then, when there were more such windows in houses, I realized that it was a backlight for plants, phytolamps. And they illuminate not only indoor plants, but also illuminate the seedlings of summer residents. But why are they exactly purple? I decided to figure it out.
Such a light from the lamps is made on purpose. The fact is that almost all plants use the entire visible spectrum from the sun, reaching the Earth's surface, except for green. Green leaves reflect. Therefore, we see all the foliage or needles of a green shade. Not many plants have a different foliage color. They absorb the rest of the spectrum in the process of photosynthesis. Therefore, in such lamps, there is no green and yellow in the spectrum. And the balance of the rest of the spectrum is different from that of the sun. Hence the purple color of the glow.
Manufacturers call such violet lamps - full spectrum lamps. They are produced by LED. They are available in the classic E27 base and in LED strips. I bought a ready-made lamp based on an LED strip for my relatives:
