Is it possible to decorate the interior of your apartment with cheap paintings? Easy! And spoil it with expensive works of art? Yes, easily! There is no need for great intelligence. For it's not just the price of the decor, but also the way it is presented!

You've probably noticed that while one picture is hanging on the wall, it decorates the room. But if you hang another one, two, three or ten next to it, then the whole effect disappears somewhere. And this often happens because they are located without observing the rules of composition. Which were invented for a reason, but so that after placing the paintings on the wall, the decor of the space would not be ashamed.

In general, I will not beat around the bush, but I will give you a hint 6 tips to help you keep your face in the dirt when decorating the walls of your apartment.

1.Classic scheme. It is great for those who have 1 or 2 large canvases and a few medium sized photographs. Everything is simple here! Place the large pieces in the center first and place the rest around. The main secret is to maintain the correct placement of art objects on the wall: all frames should be approximately the same distance from each other.

An equally important nuance is the theme of the canvases, since if it is similar, then the result will be especially balanced and harmonious.

2.Horizontal-vertical approach. And what to do if the available works are radically different not only in size, but also in color or decorative style? In this case, geometry will come to your aid, i.e. aligning photos vertically or horizontally.

To do this, draw an imaginary line (vertical or horizontal) on the wall. And then start aligning the two groups of pieces, one on the left, the other on the right (or one on top and one on the bottom). In fact, nothing complicated!

3.Bottom alignment. By the way, in a similar way, pictures can be aligned along the bottom edge. To do this, you need to mark a horizontal line above the sofa, table or head of the bed, and then attach photographs to it: that is, hang the paintings so that their bottom edge is located on it.

The size and number of pieces are not important here. The second row of images can be positioned above the first by simply stepping back the same distance from each below the hanging frame.

4. Top alignment. The canvases are aligned along the upper edge in the same way. Only the line is drawn not above the furniture, but at the top, at the level of the eyes of the average person's height (or yours). In this case, the number of paintings and their size do not matter. The main thing is to place their upper edge along the indicated line.

And there can be several rows, and they can go down even to the very floor. Here, as they say, - the taste and color!

5. Side composition. This technique allows you to decorate a limited space in terms of area. Since it is worth starting construction after defining the vertical boundaries of the composition, in no case should you overlap with photographs. Otherwise, there are no restrictions: size, frame type and color, style, number of rows, etc.

The only thing, before starting to hang pictures on the wall, it is advisable to practice on the floor. This will allow you to see mistakes in advance and appreciate the beauty of the future composition.

6.Effective reception. If you have a lot of variegated paintings (photographs), but you don’t want to drill the walls, then you can try to make a stylish composition by placing it directly on the shelves: on one or several. This will allow you to avoid a lot of unnecessary holes, while displaying all your "works" of art.

The main thing is to place large specimens closer to the wall, and lean on them smaller ones. When doing this, try not to overlap the images. So the composition will look spectacular, memorable!
