Why do entrance doors in the village always open inward despite SNiP?
In one of my first apartments, for some reason I took it into my head to open the door to the kitchen inside the room... It's good that I was immediately given a stuck by intelligent people - such a decision is contrary to SNiP standards, fire safety, and so on.In short, you can't do that - smart people decided so! Therefore, I did not open the door, but simply removed it altogether. This situation happened about 15 years ago, but for some reason I remember it for the rest of my life.
Over the years, I had to change the doors in the house at my dacha, and I decided to put them open outward. The old ones were still opening inward, and I thought that these dense builders, unfamiliar with the new modern rules, were just cheating! I didn't even think that they were experienced guys. And they did it for a reason! Well, I - all so smart, sane, put everything according to science. And in vain!
The first winter after that I had to “blush” pretty much, because at the dacha I left my wife’s sister and family to live. They recalled me there with an unkind quiet word) Indeed, it was necessary to think not only with the rules, but also with your head!
It helped that we also have a second door at the dacha on the other side of the house - it was once the main one, but then I rebuilt the courtyard, and people began to enter the house in a new way. I also changed that door, but the position there remained the same, not the same as that of the new "correct" door.
Throughout the winter, my relatives used the second door to the house. She was at the far end of the house, so to get to her, they had to clear the entire yard of snow. But despite the extra work, the relatives still preferred to use the door that opens inside the house!
What happened, and why is the door to the outside a big problem? You probably already guessed it, huh?
This winter, the dacha village was simply covered with snow. So much so that getting out of the house after a snowy night was impossible! If there was no second door, they would have to crawl out through the windows to clear the entrance to the house.
This is the important meaning of opening the door inward! It's all about our harsh winters. You calmly open the door to the house and start "digging out". To do this, there is always a shovel next to the door! Such a special interior decor! To start doing very interesting and useful exercises early in the day!)
But, nevertheless, I want to justify myself a little))
The essence of opening the door to the outside is that in the event of a fire, when every second counts, the doors can be opened without delaying anyone. Especially when there is a crowd of panicking people behind, pushing and pushing each other. It's scary when this happens on the 5-6th floor, and not in the house. Here, as a last resort, you can break a window and jump out without the risk of breaking everything for yourself! That is why this rule is neglected in our villages, but the problem with snow is really a problem for a private house!
