How to wash the greenhouse before planting in the spring (disinfection of soil, polycarbonate). I am talking about simple and effective means
It is advisable to carry out processing of the greenhouse in autumn and spring. I bought a polycarbonate greenhouse last year with a size of 3 by 6. Three beds were made in it. It's more convenient for me to take care of the plants. This year I want to plant many different varieties of tomatoes in the greenhouse.
The greenhouse is located from north to south, so I will plant seedlings taking this factor into account. Since the sun will shine more from the south and south-west, then closer to the west I will land undersized tomatoes, in the middle bed - semi-determinant (medium-sized), on the east side - tall.
In April, there is time to tackle greenhouses before the hot planting season begins.
Greenhouse activities in spring (March, April)
If in the fall you have not washed the walls and other supporting structures in it, then you will have to do it in the spring. Laundry soap is suitable as a detergent. Also, a solution of table mustard, potassium permanganate in hot water has proven itself well. You can also use household chemicals (detergent with a bactericidal effect).
In addition, for high-quality disinfection and protection from pests, you can use a tobacco stick, birch tar (on hot coals must be poured in a little liquid, as a result of which smoke is formed, which disinfects all hidden corners greenhouses).
All equipment (pegs, twines, ropes, garters, rippers and shovels) must be decontaminated. Wooden materials can be treated with bleach or whiteness, and metal objects with a Bordeaux mixture.
If you treated the greenhouse in the fall, then in the spring you can walk along the walls with a cloth that is simply soaked in clean water. It is advisable to wash the outer walls with soapy water, and then rinse off the foam with clean water.
After processing the walls, you need to tackle the soil. Since autumn, I have planted siderata in the greenhouse. Then, when the plants reached a height of 10-15 cm, I dug up the ground, adding ash, the remains of crushed marigolds to it.
From spring, you can also sow mustard, phacelia or other fast-growing green manure, which will disinfect the soil and scare away pests. If there is still snow on the street, then it can be thrown over the beds in the greenhouse and sown siderat seeds on top. In addition, the soil will be enriched with melt water, which is also beneficial for plants.
Before planting tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, the soil must be shed with a solution of "Fitosporin-M" to disinfect the soil and populate the earth with beneficial soil bacteria.
You will need 1-2 tablespoons of masterbatch per 10 liters of water.
In April, the soil in the greenhouse has already warmed up, so any greens, radishes, and onions can be planted on the edge of the beds. Thus, you can get an early harvest and fresh vitamins.
