What danger does it carry

The parasite blocks the rodent's self-preservation instinct - so it gets into the final link - the feline organism, where it successfully lives. The ultimate goal of the parasite is a representative of the feline family, where it seeks to get by zombifying a mouse.

Toxoplasmosis, if hygiene rules are not followed, can also get into a person. According to some reports, in Russia more than 20% of the population is sick with it. The disease in the bulk of cases is asymptomatic, in a chronic form. The consequences of toxoplasmosis for humans can be different - from diseases of the nervous, lymphatic and muscular systems to diseases of the liver and heart. Toxoplasmosis is very dangerous for pregnant women, more precisely, for the fetus.

But do not blame the cat for all the troubles! Toxoplasmosis is everywhere - in meat, fish, poultry, raw water, vegetables from the garden. If the products are poorly washed or undergo poor-quality heat treatment, then hello toxoplasmosis and a couple of dozen more parasites!

A cat can be dangerous if you wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly, cook meat with proper heat treatment, but have too close contact with an animal that is walking on the street. A pet that has not set foot on the street and eats dry or packaged food does not pose any danger.
