We collect zucchini in June. I share my secret of growing early zucchini
If the zucchini is properly cared for, then a bountiful harvest can be obtained within a few weeks after planting. Zucchini are universal products in the kitchen, they are fried, stewed, stuffed. Young vegetables have a delicate taste and are therefore very popular.
Vegetables usually ripen 6 to 8 weeks after planting. Harvesting begins from June to October. Ideally, vegetables that have reached a length of 15-20 cm are edible. They grow quickly, but you want your favorite product to be on the table as early as possible.
How to get ripe zucchini and in large quantities already in June
First of all, you need to plant and grow them correctly. Zucchini is propagated by seeds that germinate at a temperature of 20 C after 7-10 days. You can sow them into a vegetable garden after frosts, starting from May 15, but then you will have to harvest the fruits around mid-July.
A way that will speed up the process is seedlings
I sow the seeds in separate pots of 2 pieces, in case 1 does not germinate, if they seem to ode, then I leave the strongest and most beautiful. The sowing depth is 2-3 cm. The pots are placed in a warm, sunny place with a temperature of 18-22 degrees. After a week they will sprout and, after waiting for the first 3 leaves, they can be planted in the ground.
Important! Thus, already on May 15, there will be not just a seed in the ground, but a young plant - this is how we managed to reduce the waiting time by a week.
Choose the right variety
Before buying material for sowing, you must choose a garden culture, taking into account your own wishes. I am interested in a variety that ripens quickly and produces a good harvest:
1. "Anna" ripens in 35 days, and its fruits are oblong, green with tender pulp. The yield is 40 kg from 10 sq. m.
2. The "Firebird" will also sing in 35 - 50 days. Its harvests reach 90 kg per 10 sq. m. Zucchini will be yellow, elongated, weighing up to 700 grams.
3. "Black zucchini" is an early maturing species from 35 to 42 days. Fruits are intensely dark green in color, but with white flesh. Fruiting is intense.
4. "White" - the most ultra-early ripening 32-36 days.
Important! With early ripening varieties, the time has been reduced from 6 weeks to a month.
How to plant seedlings in open ground
Find a sunny, sheltered place. The temperature is not lower than 15 degrees Celsius. Make the soil fertile - fertilize 4-5 buckets per 10 square meters with compost. meters. Fertilize the planted plants once a week during the entire development. Use natural fertilizers such as manure.
They are planted in prepared holes to a depth of 10 to 12 cm, at a distance of 70 cm from each other. Add fertilizers to each pit, zucchini are very fond of them, so they grow faster and the harvest is richer.
Fertilizers: half a bucket of humus, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of superphosphate. Do not leave the soil dry. Watering is moderate, once a week is enough.
In order to get an early harvest, you need to choose the earliest variety, prepare seedlings, which, after planting in the ground, are actively fertilized.
