"The mount on the toilet has broken" - Made it myself
This morning I go into the bath, and the lid on the toilet is unnaturally skewed, lifted, the fastener clearly broke. I put it on my to-do list for today, took my own on business and headed to the store. But there were no bindings, I noticed that now sellers try to sell finished products, not repair kits for them.
What came up with
Now, having a tool, you can make the part yourself, some of them are generally printed on a printer, but I decided to make it easier. The first idea was to glue the broken off piece, drill two holes and drive small screws into it.
But I saw a crack at the base of the "hat", and realized that this was an unfortunate idea, it was necessary to make it more reliable. It is better to glue the washer on top, and fix it with a self-tapping screw, no sooner said than done.
The only inconvenience of such a fastening is that it did not fit into the groove, you have to grind it.
I grinded the washer, screwed the screw and grinded it too,
metal, heated up and melted to the plastic, so even better. It fit into the groove with an interference fit, but these are trifles, the main thing is that friend seven is back in working order. True, I don't know how long such a mount will last, I think will live until I find a new one, not a toilet seat because of him to buy.
