Review of Finnish Ensto convectors
The Ensto company is known for making good convectors, but mostly those who live in Petersburg and Leningrad region - since the 90s they discovered Finland for themselves and many bought their own convectors more then.
I bought my first enstos only in 2020, but they were made in Finland (since 2014 they began to be produced in the Leningrad region). I took display cases at a ridiculous price of 700 and 800 rubles for a 750-watt and 1500-watt convector, respectively.
Previously, oil radiators were used for heating, and convectors were new. What a difference I felt:
- convectors heat up faster - after all, their heating elements immediately heat the air, without an intermediate stage in the form of mineral oil;
- convectors give a slight burning smell - at first the dust accumulated on the X-shaped heating element "burns out". After a week, the smell disappears;
- the mechanical thermostats of the convectors do not click (this has been observed with Polaris radiators).
As you can imagine, in terms of energy saving, there is nothing to say: the principle of direct heating is implemented here, so how many kWh you took from the outlet, you will receive so much heat energy.
What I liked about the convector was the faster room heating and the rollover shutdown function. In general, the design of the convector is simpler than that of the radiator: there is no risk of oil spills. I bought ensto for testing, because I heard a lot of praise, and I bought a Korean Hyundai with the third convector. It will be reviewed in the next article.
