How and how to remove scratches from a car body? I share a simple but effective way
Over time, noticeable scratches begin to appear on the body of any car. Their appearance does not depend in any way on how carefully you drive your car. Absolutely all car owners face this problem and cannot be avoided in any way. There can be many reasons for the appearance of scratches: they put the car under the branches of a tree, a small pebble flew in, or just someone decided to annoy you and intentionally scratched the car.
For me personally, scratches on the car body most often appear due to small gravel that covers the road near my house. Previously, we had a dirt road and it was simply impossible to drive through the mud, so the local authorities decided to fill everything up with at least gravel (well, thanks for that, you can only dream of asphalt). Now there is no dirt, but there is a problem with scratches on the car body.
Of course, if the car's paintwork has received significant damage (deep scratches, chips), then you cannot do without a primer and painting, and in this case it is better to contact a car service to specialists. And here you can remove shallow scratches yourself and it is very simple to do it. Now I will show you one effective way..
Just recently, such a long scratch appeared on the boot lid of my car (apparently someone scratched something while the car was parked near the supermarket). And now I will try to disguise it.
Before removing a scratch, wash the damaged area well. Well, I will not waste time on trifles and wash the whole body at once (there are a couple more places with scratches that need to be removed).
Now, the scratched surface should be wiped dry with a chamois leather or a clean cloth.
That's it, you can start removing the scratch. In general, there are many different means for these purposes (wax crayons, pastes, etc.). Personally, I use this kind of body polish with micro-abrasives based on carnauba waxes.
And so, first you need to knead the tube well so that the contents mix. Then I apply polish to a slightly damp sponge and rub it with medium pressure. Here one important point, it is necessary to grind the polish mainly along the scratch!
After that, you need to let the composition dry for 2 - 3 minutes.
And in the end, it remains only to polish the damaged area with a dry soft cloth. Even such a noticeable scratch disappeared just before our eyes. You can see the result in a short video below..
