Samsung engineers create the world's first ultra-small, high-capacity, high-voltage capacitors
Hello dear guests and subscribers of my channel. Today I want to tell you about the creation of an ultra-small capacitor and about its prospects for use in modern electronics.
Samsung showcased the world's first high-voltage, ultra-small-size, high-capacity multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs).
New development of engineers and its technical parameters
The created capacitors are so small that from a short distance they look like a little coarse dust. In this case, the size of one capacitor is 0.4 mm x 0.2 mm, which corresponds to the metric standard size 0402. Moreover, such babies have a capacity of 1 μF, and the nominal voltage is 6.3 Volts.
In fairness, it must be said that these are not the first capacitors of such ultra-small sizes. But early samples did not have such an increased capacity, and their operating voltage was 4 Volts. This, of course, greatly limited the scope of their use in modern electronics.
The capacitors created by Samsung engineers have an increased capacity and voltage of 6.3 Volts, which opens up a fairly wide range of applications for capacitors.
Prospects for the use of new ultra-small capacitors
So, at the first stage, such capacitors will be actively used in smart phones operating in 5G networks. In the future, such capacitors can be used in almost any modern electronic gadget.
Well, let's see how quickly such capacitors will be introduced, and how modern electronics will develop further.
