Self-builder, no experience, and no project... Such initial data do not bode well. But I hope for the best.

Friends, greetings to all. I must say right away that I will not complain about how bad and difficult everything is at my construction site. On the contrary, things are moving forward, and this is great. But there is nowhere without difficulties, and this must be accepted.

After three years of my self-construction, I no longer consider myself a completely "green" newbie. I have some experience, and I can even give advice while sitting in front of a computer screen 😁

Is it worth spending money on a hectare project at home?

Honestly, before starting construction, I did not think for a long time, and I considered it a waste of money. But now, with experience, views have changed.

✅ And here are the main, in my opinion, the disadvantages of building without a project:

Cost overruns.

Yes, the money that you save on the project will fly away to the construction site itself. The same "stock, or just in case" that will be present at each stage. Because most of us are used to doing everything for sure and with a margin, which in most cases is simply not needed.

The project, and all the calculations in it, just protect from these unnecessary expenses.

❗ But the most interesting thing is that when you have already spent a lot of money in the first stages, the following begins ...

Waste savings.

The completely opposite story begins to happen, when you try to save the remaining funds, and cut where it is not necessary.

Waste of time.

How many hours have I spent thinking about how to make this or that node. Then he tried it on ten times so as not to be mistaken. And in the end I had to redo it.

It is the project that saves you from unnecessary thoughts and unnecessary work.

Of course, not everything is so scary, but sometimes it was just like that. Of course, it's good that the brain is constantly working, but when it's 24/7, you start to get tired ...

And in the end - the unknown ...

How much more money do you need? Where to nail what? And when is this all over and we go to our house?

Such thoughts often roll over, especially at the end of the working day, but all that remains is to strengthen and move on.

Of course, these disadvantages cannot be avoided, but as they say, you can live. Moreover, there are also advantages. But about them next time ...
