I bought a budgetary but powerful car compressor with a good package, showing what it is capable of
To pump up a car wheel or an inflatable boat with a hand pump, you need to spend a lot of effort and time, so I decided to buy myself a good car compressor to greatly simplify this task. After a long search, I found a budgetary, but rather powerful compressor AGR-50 with a capacity of 50 liters per minute with a fairly good package.
Now I will tell you more about its configuration and at the end I will conduct a small test in which we will see how long it will take to inflate a car wheel.
This compressor comes in a handy bag and I liked that it has a lot of space and all the parts are not close to each other.
The complete set of this car compressor includes: the pump itself (piston type), a pressure gauge with a flexible hose, instructions and nozzles with adapters, of which there are generally a huge number. There are nozzles that can pump up an inflatable boat, mattress, soccer ball, bicycle, and even inflatable toys for children.
The compressor has built-in overheating protection. The device will automatically disconnect from the power supply if the compressor temperature is critical (above the permissible level). Also, it is protected against short circuits. There is a fuse in the power cord (there is an additional fuse in the box). At first glance, this baby seems weak, but its power is 280 watts and it can work continuously for as long as 30 minutes (then it should be allowed to cool for 15 minutes)!
To connect a hose with a pressure gauge to the pump, you only need to make a couple of movements. We squeeze the hose retainer and attach it to the pump tip, where it locks itself. Removing the hose is also easy.
The length of the hose (fully extended) is as much as 5 meters, so it can easily reach any wheel.
The compressor is powered by a car battery using two clamps (+/-), which in my opinion is much more convenient than powering from a cigarette lighter. The power cord is 3 m long.
This compressor has a high-precision two-coil pressure gauge (ATM and PSI), which has a by-pass valve on the back for precise adjustment of the tire pressure.
The hose is connected to the bus using such a metal fitting. This is precisely the disadvantage of this compressor.. The fitting has a threaded connection, and therefore, at the moment of unscrewing, it etches air. In this regard, a flag clamp is much more convenient.
Well, I told you about the compressor and now let's see what it is capable of. Now I will take a "spare wheel" (175/70 R14) and pump it up to 2 atmospheres, let's see how long it takes the compressor to cope with this task. Watch a short video below.
As you can see, the Aggressor compressor inflated the 14th radius wheel in just 69 seconds! Agree, for a budget car compressor costing a little more than 3 tons. this is just a great result!
