Cheap Country Bath Drain Pit: 4 Free Sewer Materials
How to make a pit (sewer) for a bath correctly and from what? In advance, you need to determine the place and size of the sewer from the number of people who will wash. If the soil is loose, then you will have to strengthen the edges, if it is solid, then you can save money.
Previously, they used tires, brick or slate. Quite suitable materials.
Option 1
Walls with gaps are made of bricks. So it will be better to leave the water, soaking into the soil.
Pour an interlayer (crushed stone) between the brick and the ground to purify the liquid. This version of the pit is considered durable and you can make a large volume. No new brick is needed, used material from the old building will do.
Option 2
Concrete, perforated rings are better than bricks. This is an option for those who do not save.
The free space, as in the first version, is filled with drainage material.
Option 3
Slate. As a standard, a hole is dug about 1.5 - 2.5 m deep. Pour clay to the bottom, fill it with water and compact. Then the bottom can even be concreted. You can do without it. Cover the pit walls with slate or metal sheets. Above is slate and earth.
Option 4
Old car tires. Good for those who want to make a drain pit on their own cheaply and in a short time.
Tires are good material for liquid waste only. And they are great for a bath. Make holes on the sides of the tires in advance. There is an option without holes, you just need to make a gap between the slopes. The plus is that old tires can be obtained for free and such a pit will last a long time.
Barrel pit - option 5
Also a cheap version of the sewage system for a bath. You need to dig a hole, about 1.5 m high. Pour crushed stone 24-30 cm on the bottom. There should be a space of at least 10 cm between the soil and the walls. Cover it with rubble as well.
Then holes are cut in the 300 liter iron barrel (in the walls). Make another hole for the sewer pipe. A whole lid at the barrel remains on top, or you can cut it off by making a hatch to watch the water leave.
It is important to make the right slope under the pipes so that the water does not stagnate. By the way, you can use a plastic barrel (it will work longer and will not rot).
Good luck to everyone in your work, repairs and all the best.
