It took a long time to decide how to connect the wires in the junction box πŸ€”. Which way do I find most suitable for a beginner like me?

One of the most critical places in house wiring is junction boxes, or rather, the connection of wires in them. And as a novice in construction and electrical installation, I needed to study this issue with special care.

And here, as always, I started not only from general concepts and norms, but from my specific situation at the construction site.

It took a long time to decide how to connect the wires in the junction box πŸ€”. Which way do I find most suitable for a beginner like me?
The entire analysis and subsequent conclusions will be made not by a professional, but by an amateur (that is, by me). Therefore, do not wait for professional terminology ...

Initially, I divided all methods of connecting wires into two groups:

1. Detachable connections are various terminals and PPE.

2. Non-removable joints are soldering, welding, and crimping.

Of course, all options have a right to exist, but I decided to choose from the options for the second paragraph.

Still, all collapsible connections are very dependent on the quality of the connecting elements themselves (i.e. terminals). At the same time, even according to the rules, they must be mounted in boxes, with the possibility of revision (that is, the possibility of some kind of malfunction and repair is initially laid down). Knowing myself, I will carry out this audit every day 😁 ...

Now let's decide which of the non-separable joints is better?

For reliability, there are no complaints about any option. I only care about the execution process.

Welding. It seems that there are no special difficulties in the process.

  • The inverter is available, and I even know how to use it. Buy only carbon electrode.
  • There are no particular inconveniences, even in working at height. Mask on the head, inverter on the shoulder, and let's go ...

But there are things that confuse:

βœ” Sparks at work right under the ceiling. Or rather, what will become of the vapor barrier installed there? I think no good.

In this regard, soldering is much more accurate.

But the inconvenience of the process can add problems.

Of course, now there are various soldering bowls and other devices, but when doing work without experience, this will not give much advantage.

My unconditional choice is crimping.

  • I bought a press pliers, sleeves and connect anywhere and in any position.
  • At the same time, you don't even need to gain any experience.
Already bought)))

Although, for me, all this is still theory. In fact, I'm sure there will be some nuances too.
