Does the interior seem too boring, lacking interesting details? No question, there are ideas!
Details and strokes are what the eye "clings" to, so their presence in the interior is extremely important. In this regard, many designers use colors, different textures, light, architectural elements to add zest to the decor.
Good afternoon dear friends!
I often share with you techniques that help to diversify the interior and make it more expressive. Today I want to tell you about an accent wall, which is an excellent solution that can make the space of a room more lively, bright, trendy. And to prove this fact to you, I have prepared 6 cool ideas for every taste and wallet.
1. Paint of a different shade
A wall in a contrasting color looks very bold. In order not to miss the mark, use the color wheel (type in "Itten's color wheel" in the search). So you can easily choose a contrasting, but harmonious combination to the main color that prevails in the room.
If you're worried about contrast, try taking a color a couple of shades darker or lighter than the base color. This will also look very stylish.
2. Imitation wood
It will be interesting to look at a wall made under a tree. A room with such a wall looks stylish, cozy and extremely original.
For this, MDF panels, parquet boards or other materials are suitable. For example, I once implemented such an idea with a quartz laminate.
Quartz laminate is a modern eco-friendly material, versatile in use: it is used as a floor covering and for the embodiment of any design ideas. It is important that it is shock-resistant - there will be no scratches or damage on it, it will last a long time even in the children's room.
By the way, quartz laminate is not afraid of water. This means it can be used in the bathroom or as an apron in the kitchen. It is also one of the few floor coverings that can be laid on a warm floor.
I decorated the wall in my friend's apartment with the help of Fargo quartz laminate. It has an expressive wood structure, due to this, the material looks very natural. In the catalog there are more than 50 varieties of shades and textures imitating wood - they chose for a long time and with pleasure. There is a whole collection of designs for stone - it is perfect for decorating a bathroom.
Before installing the quartz laminate, I advise you to putty the wall to a flat surface. For attaching elements to the wall, liquid nails are best suited. As a result, you will have a bright, unusual wall, resistant to damage and unpretentious to maintain!
3. Plaster
Decorating on one wall is another great idea to add visual interest to any space! The main thing is to correctly determine the type of plaster so that it looks balanced in the interior.
When choosing plaster, keep in mind that it can be applied in many different ways. And the final result will depend on this.
4. Photopanel or spectacular wallpaper
Choose a modern photo panel or wallpaper with an interesting pattern. Try to match the shades in them harmoniously with the base colors that you use when decorating the room. And do not forget that the duration of its operation will depend on the quality of the material!
By the way, with the help of this technique, you can further emphasize the purpose of the room: nursery, bedroom or living room.
5. Panels
The panels will help you save time and effort in interior decoration. With their help, you can hide irregularities on the walls, create additional sound insulation and hide the wires.
You can use 3D panels, which will add interesting volume to the room, or soft panels, with which the room will look more comfortable. Great welcome for a bedroom or nursery!
6. Moldings and slats
Another way to add volume to the room is to decorate the walls with moldings (decorative profile strips) or wooden slats. Moldings are often used in classic interiors, slats - in modern ones (Scandinavian, loft, hi-tech).
There are a lot of options for the arrangement of decorative elements on the wall and color schemes - you can take inspiration from photographs of existing interiors or create your own design. And don't be afraid to create accents - tasteful and in moderation, they can transform a room!
